MUTUAL RECOGNITION ACHIEVED WITH GAPLA

Last evening , the chancellor and president of Excelsior agreed upon a treaty proposed by Wyatt Seungri Baek, deputy president of the Federated States of Gapla, A large micronation located in California. Following the collapse of the Democratic-Militarian Party, chancellor Nico Wiedemann has forged ahead with diplomacy with Gapla, achieving it yesterday after a two-day email exchange with Mr. Baek. The Excelsior Republic now officially recognizes The Federated States of Gapla as a sovereign nation. This is Excelsior's first international recognition as well, so today is a big day in the history of Excelsior. The Chancellor, Mr. Wiedemann, is proposing a bill making January 12th Gapla Day. Excelsior has also entered official state friendship with Gapla, and promises to support Gapla, and in turn, for the great nation of Gapla to support us. This is following a full apology from Gapla over questionable defamatory content written to Excelsior. Mr. Wiedemann has dismissed claims that they were at all offensive, and issued a full state apology to Gapla, but president Silas Washburn has still insisted that they were.
